Are you looking to gain more experience working within a school? Have you got experience working in Key Stage 2 as a Teaching Assistant or working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities? If so, this role for a KS2 Teaching Assistant could be for you. Job description: This role as a KS2 Teaching Assistant and involves working with a child in Year 5 with autism. The role would involve providing 1-1 support, small group activities and delivering interventions for those children. The school is located in the Preston area and is OFSTED rated ‘Good’ with a 1 form entry. This role is set for start date of after Easter. Responsibilities as a KS2 Teaching Assistant in this school would include: • Working closely with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in year group’s 3 to 6, who require additional support, delivering interventions and small group activities. • Liaising with the class teachers and parents on the development of the children and helping to plan and organise the lessons for the following day. • Insuring children are safeguarded in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023.• Providing 1-1 support to a pupil who needs extra help with their learning. • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. • Confident in supporting children with personal care, feeding and changing etc. Requirements as a KS2 Teaching Assistant in this school: • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred, but not essential. • Experience of working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, in a school setting or working with children in a similar setting such as care, support work etc. • Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), with special understanding of Autism and the appropriate strategies to support pupils with the particular needs. • As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work as part of a team with other Teaching Assistants and teaching staff.• Capability to build strong and trusting relationships.This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.Nest Education Ltd is an equal opportunities employer and as such we do not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race or any other equal opportunities criteria.The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.As such, you will be required to provide an up to date DBS, or be prepared to allow Nest Education to process one on your behalf, in addition to other mandatory compliance checks in line with the DfE guidelines.Nest Education offers temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and be prepared to attend a short interview either in person or remotely with Nest to demonstrate your suitability for this role.Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
