Deputy Headteacher – Behaviour and Safeguarding – Aurora Severnside School
Location: Berkeley, Gloucestershire
Salary: £50,807 – £56,802 (L4-L8)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Start Date: 3rd June 2024

Aurora Severnside is a school for 11-16 year olds with additional learning needs including SEMH and ASD. Having taken the best elements of a mainstream school and the best elements of a special school to create an environment where young people can achieve their own goals and thrive – be that with GSCEs or a vocational route.
The main purpose of the role:
We are looking for an inspirational and engaging current Deputy Headteacher, or Middle Leader ready for the next step, who shares our commitment and vision in providing an ambitious and therapeutic, person-centred learning environment for our students with additional needs.
Working collaboratively with the Headteacher and the Leadership Team, you will have knowledge, experience, and interpersonal skills to develop our school in accordance with its shared values and our school development plans.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for leading on behaviour and safeguarding (including Designated Safeguarding Lead), across the school and will champion our PACE and restorative approaches to ensure that they continue to be at the forefront of all that we do as a school. They will also play a key role as a member of the senior leadership team in developing our curriculum as we work towards becoming an outstanding school. This will include line management of education staff and oversight of exams and awarding bodies.
We are an organisation who will also support you as an individual to fulfil your potential. We therefore seek a dedicated and passionate individual to lead in the operational running of the school and to further develop the quality of education provided at Severnside.
Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required.
