We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Technical Instructor in Ceramics to join our dynamic team at DeMontfort University. As a Technical Instructor, you’ll play a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant learning environment by providing comprehensive technical support to both students and staff.

Ideal Candidate

  • Your responsibilities include:
  • Delivering hands -on training, practical assistance and expert advice on the utilisation of equipment and the application of various ceramic processes and techniques. Practical knowledge and experience of 3D clay printing will be advantageous.
  • Day to day organisation and management of the ceramic’s workshops, specialist plaster equipment and glaze lab, ensuring strict compliance with DMU Health and Safety policies.
  • Possess a rich repertoire of ceramic techniques and exhibit specialist knowledge of materials, hand tools, equipment and machinery.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining excellent working practices within the workshop, actively researching, evaluating and communicating innovative solutions to technically complex creative ideas. • Oversee and monitor workshop usage and collaborate with academic, technical and research staff.
  • Develop engaging learning materials to enhance the educational experience of our students.
